Jean Elrick, MD

Dr. Elrick is senior vice president of Administration at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a doctor, administrator and assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, she brings multiple perspectives to thinking about healthcare delivery in America. In her current position, she is responsible for campus planning and construction projects, which these days means she spends much of her time overseeing the construction of the Building for the Third Century of MGH Medicine.

In this op-ed, she discusses the impetus for the nationwide building boom among hospitals and how MGH must continue to plan for its future.
